Mother Sierra
pinwheels handmade earrings
$52.00 USD
/
Mother Sierra’s founders, Addy Vazquez and Eli Zloof, met in Vietnam during the course of their own personal journeys around the world. Addy was inspired by the artwork and jewelry of the Wixáritari people she grew up around and the colorful vegetation of the high desert of the Sierra Madre, the flora and fauna of the rich coastal regions and tropical waters of Mexico.
All Mother Sierra pieces are sustainably handmade by Wixárika & Otomí families in Mexico & Maya families in Guatemala. The manufacturing process is a family affair, taking place at the leisure of the artisans and in the comfort of their own homes. There is not a single factory or assembly line anywhere in the chain of production and it shows in the quality and durability of the pieces. Merchandise is ordered in small, manageable shipments, and makers are compensated fairly and above market rate. So, when you make even a small order, you’re making a meaningful contribution to the Indigenous families the Mother Sierra team works with.
