This snuggly cardigan sweater has a clever drawstring at the bottom, so you can style the slightly cropped piece as loose or as tight as you’d like. It closes with hand-carved coconut shell buttons and the cropped sleeves end just past the elbow.

Designed in collaboration with Christopher, aka The Plant Kween, this sweater is a gender-expansive style. These are Christopher’s style notes: “Buttoned sweaters with a drawstring are all the rave, dahling. Get into it! This fun sweater can be as flowy as you want it to be or can hug that bawdy in all the right ways!”

The pieces in the Plant Kween x tonlé collection were created out of a shared appreciation for radical self love, healing, community care, and (of course) plants! This collection combines Christopher’s visionary style with tonlé’s sustainable, zero waste process, as each piece is made from reclaimed materials. This sweater is designed to fit many body types as part of our work to disrupt the gender binarism in the fashion industry. Clothing in this collection allows fashion to be a form of self-expression and joy for our team making these pieces, and for our community wearing them.

We are working to reject and disrupt gender binarism in the fashion industry. Because traditional size charts can often be quite binary - we invite you to consider our measurements included in our sizing chart when considering which items may fit you best. If you have any questions about our sizing, don’t hesitate to reach out to us! We have worked to make our garments have an adaptable fit for all bodies. Please note that some garments may have specific fit notes and those will be included in the notes about that specific garment’s fit.

This piece is made from sweater-fleece offcuts, just like your favorite sweatshirt. These up-cycled textiles include a blend of plant-based natural fibers and synthetic fibers. To best take care of your zero-waste upcycled garment (and to reduce your environmental footprint), we recommend machine washing in cold water, and hanging to dry. Our fabrics are carefully hand selected each week from remnant markets where large manufacturers bring discarded off-cuts and deadstock, and we do our best to select the most consistent, comfortable, soft, and high-quality fabrics. Fabrics are pre-washed and shrunk, but if you machine dry this garment it may shrink slightly.
